I have always been proud to be a Spartan. I attend MSU from 1995-1999 and graduated with a degree in Agri-business Management and Animal Science. It wasn’t until my internship with Select-Sires during my senior year that I discovered design and communications as my future career path.
However, it has been so exciting to see the headlines read “Smell the ROSES” for Michigan State Spartans! I was super excited that the MSU Spartan Football Team was going to the Rose Bowl on top of being the Big 10 Champions.
But I am proud to be a Spartan for many reasons beyond being a football or basketball fan. I feel very fortunate to have attended MSU and that I had the opportunity to learn from some of the great professors in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
One of my favorite courses in the Agribusiness Management curriculum was Strategic Management by Chris Peterson. This week I was delighted to see his name in the ag news headlines. Peterson is currently the Director of the MSU Product Center for Agriculture and Natural Resources. A recent Mlive News Article highlighted the success of the MSU Product Center over the last 10 years.
The Michigan State University Product Center Food Ag Bio helps Michigan entrepreneurs develop and commercialize high-value, consumer-responsive products and businesses in the agriculture, natural resources, and bioeconomy sectors.
Here is an overview of the center presented by Peterson.
So if you are in the Food, Ag or Bio Industry sectors and have a product or service idea, contact the center and tap into the outstanding resources available from MSU to develop your business or product ideas.
